Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching class and recitals
Parents may watch the last ten minutes of any class on the first Saturday of the month, and all of open practice. The rest of the time, wait in the front room or outside so dancers can try things without an audience. The spring showcase is in May, with seats held for each dancer's family.
Phones, recording and music
Phones stay in bags during class so everyone is dancing, not watching a screen. Filming happens in a short block the teacher calls, and only dancers who have said yes are in the shot. Please don't post video of other people's dancers. Music in class is the clean edit, and dancers can suggest a song for the teacher to check first.
What to wear and bring
Clothes you can move in, a pair of clean flat-soled sneakers or socks, hair off the face and a water bottle. Take off rings and long necklaces before class. There is no uniform, and a sweatshirt is fine in winter.
Absences and late arrival
Text or call the studio before class if your dancer can't come. A dancer who arrives late joins at the next break so they can warm up first. A missed class can be made up in the same level on another day of the session: ask at the front desk.
Drop-off and pickup
Dancers 9 to 12 are signed out to a grown-up named on their form. Dancers 13 and older may leave on their own when a parent has said so in writing. The front door opens fifteen minutes before the first class, and we wait with any dancer whose ride is late.
When to keep your child home
Keep your dancer home with a fever, a stomach bug or anything catching, until they have been well for a full day. A dancer who is sore or tired can still come and watch the floor work, and anyone who feels a sharp pain tells the teacher right away.
Still have a question?
Call or write to the studio, or come to one class and ask the teacher at the door.
