How tuition works

What sets tuition, what the extras are for and how billing works. The registration page has this session's figures.

  • Tuition depends on how many classes a dancer takes each week and how long those classes are. Popping foundations and hip hop foundations run 60 minutes, and the 12 to 15 classes run 75. Open practice can be added to a weekly class or taken on its own.

    • The length of the class

    • Open practice, with a class or on its own

  • Registration

A yearly registration covers the studio's file on your dancer, the insurance on the floor and the time it takes the front desk to set up your account. It is due when you sign up for a first class after your trial. A trial class doesn't need registration.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed monthly through the studio's online account, with autopay as an option. A session runs about ten weeks, and a class we cancel is made up or credited.

  • Siblings

A second dancer from the same household is handled differently from the first. Ask when you register and we will set up both accounts together.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

A missed class can be made up in the same level on another day of the session. Tell the front desk before you come and we will find a spot. Make-ups don't carry into the next session.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

The costs beyond tuition, and what each is for. Costumes: the showcase uses a studio T-shirt, ordered in winter and billed before the show, and dancers wear black clothes from home. Recital: the showcase has a production charge for the room and the sound, and guests' tickets are separate. Entries and travel: the studio doesn't enter a team in events. If a crew chooses to go to a jam or a workshop together, the entry and the travel are listed first and each family decides.

    • Showcase production

    • Showcase T-shirt, as the costume

    • Your own clean sneakers

    • Entries and travel, only if a crew goes

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's notice before a dancer leaves, by email or at the front desk. Leaving partway through a month means that month's tuition is still due, and a showcase T-shirt that is already ordered stays with the family.
